  • Detour (aka Thomas Evans) is a multi-disciplinary American artist who lives in Denver.

  • Technique:

    Detour specializes in large-scale public art, interactive visuals, portraiture, immersive spaces, and creative direction. He aims to produce work that lies at the intersection of art and innovation. As a born collaborator and military brat, Detour draws from a wide range of experiences that shape his landscapes and perspectives. His murals exist at the crossroads of contemporary art and community, seeking to capture the essence and soul of the human experience through unique visual representations of authentic experiences and expressions. The aim of his work is to become an integral part of the community, standing out through positivity, color, and form.

  • Exposure:

    Detour paints murals around the world, and has participated in multiple residencies, including in France and in Argentina. Detour also recently won Denver International Airport’s artist call to create a half-million dollar sculpture that will be suspended in its newly constructed terminal.
