OUR MISSION

Street Art for Mankind (SAM) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that strongly believes in the power of Art to trigger social change. With the support of over 80 prominent international street artists, SAM curates and produces large murals, interactive exhibitions and live performances around the world to bond communities and generations around human rights.

SAM was built around the fight against child labour & trafficking, and it remains its primary focus. Because we believe that together we can create a Child Friendly world.

With the adoption of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, 193 countries committed to ending child labor by 2025. Yet, there will still be 121 M child laborers in 2025* if we don’t accelerate the rate progress.

New mural elevating global aspirations for gender equality is unveiled in New York

1 October 2021, New York – A global collaboration of artists and partners today unveiled the third in a sequence of murals to celebrate global action for gender equality, marking the efforts of the 2021 Generation Equality Forum, which has galvanized over USD 40 billion in commitments to advance women’s and girls’ rights. The mural, located at 200 East 44th street in New York, aims to inspire every generation to accelerate action and progress towards gender equality. The unveiling of the mural will be a closing highlight of the 2021 UN General Assembly (UNGA), acting as a symbol of United Nations leaders’ commitment to gender equality. It has been produced as a partnership of UN Women, Street Art for Mankind (SAM), the City of New York and the Governments of France and Mexico, with support from BNP Paribas.

Brussels hosts first of 50 UN Ecosystem Restoration Murals worldwide

The first of fifty murals to be displayed in major cities around the world to raise awareness and trigger action for the protection of the environment is being officially unveiled on September 29 in Brussels.
Street Art for Mankind (SAM) is joining the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, a global effort led by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to halt climate change and restore ecosystems by 2030, by creating a series of #RestorationMurals around the world over the next ten years. Culture and art can play a vital role in inspiring a #GenerationRestoration that calls for the protection and revival of ecosystems across the planet.

Street Art for Mankind, World Food Program USA and Kellogg Company Launch Murals to Advocate for “Zero Hunger” (SDG2)

Murals spotlight U.S. and global food insecurity and injustice
in support of United Nations World Food Programme’s mission to end global hunger

Washington, DC (February 24, 2021) – World Food Program USA, in support of the mission of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, is teaming up with Street Art for Mankind (SAM) and Kellogg Company to create a series of murals around the United States dedicated to “Zero Hunger,” the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2). Six murals, curated by SAM, are aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing support to combat rising U.S. and global food insecurity, especially in the socioeconomic fallout of the pandemic.
