#IChooseToRise is an outdoor museum of eight murals in Cypress Station, Houston.
Inspired by a community shaped by resilience, the series empowers students and neighbors to embrace their potential and responsibility. It invites them to choose who they become, guided by values that foster hope, love, and purpose.
Seven murals empower students of all ages to see themselves as creative and compassionate leaders. Each one offers a moment to pause, reflect, and take the next step toward a better version of oneself.
Our Shared Home by Emily Ding celebrates environmental stewardship and students as caretakers of the planet. Some choices can’t be undone, including those that cost lives to violence or the streets. Inside the R.I.S.E. Empowerment Center, a four-panel mural becomes a pathway forward, turning pain into hope and hope into change. Still I R.I.S.E by Robert Hodge invites everyone to heal, reflect, and rise above hardship to build peace and purpose.
Free Spirits, Golden Hearts by Ade Odunfa honors resilient learners who rise through challenge with courage and hope.
Geometry of Dreams by Ana Marietta explores imagination, direction, and the belief that every dream can become a path forward.
Rise Through the Arts by Devona Stimpson showcases creative leaders who grow through integrity, collaboration, and expression.
Imagination in Motion by Audrianna Woods highlights curious minds who explore, discover, and find joy in lifelong learning.
Spirit Leaders by Mathieu Jean-Baptiste pays tribute to compassionate friends who lead with kindness, empathy, and care for others.
