Located in Richmond upon Thames –an area home to 500-year-old oak trees which more than France and Germany combined, with a long history of species conservation dating back to the time of Henry VIII, this mural poses a powerful question: What legacy will we all leave for future generations?
A fusion of futurism and classical art, the mural envisions a harmonious world where cities and nature thrive together. At its heart, an anthropomorphic willow tree –a keystone species in the local ecosystem– stands surrounded by regional wildlife, emphasizing humanity’s deep connection to nature. The transformation of London into a flowing river pays tribute to local waterways like the Thames and Crane, highlighting the urgent need to restore and protect river habitats increasingly threatened by human activity.
